Isabelle Amazon-Brown

Digital Service Design Consultant

Previously Head of Digital Programme Design at Every1Mobile, and specialising in the design and deployment of feature-phone friendly websites for young people in the global south, Isabelle's now specialises in the design of chatbots for social impact. She consults for clients including Unicef, WHO, Girl Effect, Prince's Trust International and ONE providing both strategic and hands on technical support.

Her experience spans digital strategy, programme design, design research, co-creation, UX design, content development, product management, impact evaluation, capacity-building and team leadership for the digital development and CSR sectors. She's worked on over 30 digital products for users in Africa, Asia, and Europe including chatbots, mobile websites, apps, SMS and content delivery platforms. Most of this has focused on health communications and behaviour change programming for youth, including on sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender based violence, menstrual health and hygiene, and mental health, as well as gender, education and advocacy.

She is passionate about working directly with end- users , subject matter experts and technologists to create impactful digital products - but with 10+ years experience in the 'digital for social impact' space she considers herself 'passionately jaded' about the field, having witnessed firsthand the opportunities and challenges inherent to reaching the most vulnerable via digital channels.
